In Kandy, visiting places and things to explore are immense. Being the capital of the Central Province, Kandy is at an elevation of 500 metres, covering an area of 28.53 km2. Sitting in between the Hanthana and Knuckles mountain ranges, Kandy was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 1988. Kandy is widely known to play host to thousands that visit to pay homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic, which is one of the key religious sites in the country.
